Obituary of Barbara Lou Passaro

PASSARO, Barbara Lou (nee Brown) age 74 of Ft. Lauderdale, FL formerly of Wyckoff, died peacefully on Tuesday in Florida. Barbara was born in Totowa Boro on July 19, 1935. She was a graduate of the Passaic Valley High School, attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 1959 from William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. Barbara was an alumni of Zeta Kappa Phi and was responsible for interviewing prospective members of the sorority. She and her husband Richard served the community of Wyckoff as owners of the Wyckoff Pharmacy for more than 45 years. Barbara was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church and the Wyckoff Woman's Club. After their retirement in 1994 Dick and Barbara moved to Long Beach Island where Barbara served as Vice President of the Garden Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her own garden. Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Richard P. Passaro, her children, William A., Laura M. Jensen, Paul C. and John K. Passaro. Barbara also leaves her adoring grandchildren, Tiffany, Lance, Sarah, Peter, Jack, Anne, Katie, Charlie and her great granddaughter, Kristina. She also leaves her sister Marie Lyle. Barbara was pre-deceased by her brother Arthur Brown in 1998. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 at the Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday, 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff.
