Obituary of Anastasia Thoelen

THOELEN, Anastasia, age 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she had lived in Waldwick for the past 55 years. Anastasia was a legal secretary for over forty years. She was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church of HoHoKus where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Senior Lucans. In her later years she enjoyed attending concerts, was a member of the Jimmy Sturr Fan Club and she enjoyed travel as well, including to her homeland of Ireland. Anastasia was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry in 1980. She is survived by her four dear children: Robert of Waldwick, Kathleen Silverstrim and husband Nelson of Forestburg, NY, James and wife Leslee of Blooming Grove, NY, and Thomas and wife Concetta of Mahwah. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com) 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff. Funeral Mass, Friday, 11:30 AM at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, HoHoKus. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Luke's R.C. Church would be appreciated.
