Obituary of Louis Brindisi

BRINDISI, Louis, age 94 of Oakland, died Saturday, May 22, 2010. Born in Jersey City, Louis lived in Lodi for most of his life, moved to Florida for 38 years and moved to Oakland earlier this year. Louis was in the Army Air Corps during World War II and then was a Pipe Layer for Frank Stamato & Company in Lodi. He is survived by his wife Marion, daughter Marlene Thiel of Oakland, granddaughter Shari Cathey and her husband Chris of Waldwick, grandson Gerald Cooke and his wife Stacy of Nanuet, NY, and his great-grandchildren; David, Kurtis, and Ava Cathey and Caitlin Cooke. Louis is also survived by his sister Grace Lucia of Wayne. Following private cremation, there will be a gathering of friends, with wake service Wednesday, 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ, www.vpfh.com. In memory of Louis Brindisi, the family requests small live flowering or vegetable plants for a memorial garden in his honor.
