Obituary of Elizabeth Heflin

HEFLIN, Elizabeth F. "Betty" age 95 of Mahwah, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Betty was born in Campgaw, NJ and was a life long resident of Mahwah. Her career as Tax Collector for the Township of Mahwah spanned 30 years before her retirement in 1985. She was an active member of the Fardale Chapel in Mahwah and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of Wyckoff Reformed Church. Surviving are her devoted children, Lanita Jo Rosencrantz of Mahwah and Thomas Heflin of Warwick, NY. Betty also leaves her adoring ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Alfred in 1988 and her daughter Virginia Sue Dunn in 1980. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow in the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the Heflin family on Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
