Obituary of Steven Jongsma

JONGSMA, Steven Wayne, 46, of Fremont, NH died suddenly in his sleep at home on April 3, 2010. Beloved husband, for 26 years, of his high school sweetheart, Laurie Ann (nee Van Dyke). Devoted father of Steven William and Danielle Elizabeth. Mr. Jongsma is survived by his mother Elizabeth Jongsma (nee Buma) of Hawthorne, NJ and predeceased by his father Harold P. Jongsma. He is also survived by brothers Harold, Kenneth, Thomas and David and twin sister Sharon Jongsma. Steve spent his early years in Hawthorne, NJ and graduated Eastern Christian High School in 1982. Following marriage he and Laurie resided in Midland Park, NJ where he was an EMT with the Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He spent his career involved in the sheet metal fabricating industry including positions with Radiation Systems Inc. in Wyckoff, NJ, Wecom Inc. in Glassboro, NJ, Atlantic Machinery in Kingston, NH and for 18 years with Amada America, headquartered in Chicago, where he rose to the position of General Manager. Steven had many interests including golf, woodworking, cooking, fishing and involvement with his church. His passion was his wife Laurie and children Steven and Danielle. He was adored by his family and friends and respected by everyone who knew him. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 9 at the Raymond Baptist Church, Route 27, Raymond, NH. Those not able to attend the service are invited to meet the family at the Raymond Baptist Church later that day from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. An additional memorial service will be held on Monday, April 12, 7:30 PM, at the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 530 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.
