Obituary of Immacolata Cantisano

CANTISANO, Immacolata "Tena", died peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Born in Paterson, she lived in Wyckoff for 36 years. Tena was the first of fourteen children and lived through the Great Depression and Second World War during which time she was employed by Curtiss-Wright Aeronautical making nose cones for the B29 bomber. She was employed by Grand Union corporate headquarters for 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church of Wyckoff and Wyckoff Seniors. Tena enjoyed the opera and was known for her piano playing. Tena is survived by her dear daughter Fran Aboyoun (Chas) of Wyckoff, her two dear sons Anthony of Santa Monica, CA and Richard of Ramsey, her three grandchildren, Darren (Karen), Lauren and Adrienne Aboyoun, and her great-grandaughter Naomi. She is also survived by five brothers: Joseph, Cosmo, Anthony, Lawrence and William Goffredo, and two sisters, Anna Ashby and Rita Schwieghardt. Tena was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony F. in 2000, her five brothers Carmine, Vincent, Donald, John, and Orazio, and her sister Rose Krouch. Friends may visit the family on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Service, Tuesday 9:15 AM followed by Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, would be appreciated.
