Obituary of William Wilkins

WILKINS, William F., Sr. age 65 of Midland Park, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Bill was born in Paterson, NJ, he lived in Prospect Park until moving to Midland Park in 1970 Bill was a banker with Chase Manhattan in New York for 21 years, then worked for National Community Bank, and spent his last 15 years doing specialized credit consulting. Bill was involved with Boy Scout Troop 157 for many years, was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood, where he served in many capacities, most recently as Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He also served as Loaned Executive to the NYC United Way where he raised funds from the investment and banking community on Wall Street. Bill was a member of the Utica, NY Rotary. Surviving is his loving wife Anna, his children, William Jr. of Midland Park, Suzanne Wilkins Yu of Wilton, CT, Jarrett Wilkins of Ringwood, NJ, Clifford Wilkins of Philadelphia, PA; his 2 grandchildren Sora Yu and Finn Patrick Wilkins. Visiting will be Friday 2- 4 and 7 - 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 14 Hope St., Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
