Obituary of Frank Holtham

HOLTHAM, Frank C., age 80, of Mahwah, NJ and Englewood, FL, died peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2010. Born in Paterson on October 10, 1929, he lived in Hawthorne, NJ and graduated Hawthorne High School in 1947. He went on to graduate with a B.A. degree from Tusculam College in 1951. Frank was a member of the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War in the Army's Signal Intelligence Branch. He graduated from Farleigh Dickenson University with an M.B.A. degree and was recruited to Ford Motor Company as a division manager. Frank opened Glen Motors, Inc. in 1958. Throughout his life he owned and operated eleven automobile franchises. Frank was Past President of the Toyota Dealer Council and a member of the National Automobile Dealer Association and NJ Car. He received numerous parts and service excellence awards and the Presidents Award from Toyota in 2000. He was given a 40 year Toyota Commemorative Plaque in 2008 making him one of New Jersey's oldest standing dealers. Frank enjoyed golf and was an active member of Apple Ridge Country Club, Mahwah, NJ, the Venice Golf and Country Club, Venice, FL, and the Rutland Golf and Country Club, Rutland, VT. Survived by his beloved wife Patricia, his daughter Catherine Ann Holtham and husband Richard and their children Joseph David Esposito, Victoria Cate Esposito and Diana Suzanne Cronenberg, his son Frank C. Holtham and wife Katie and their children Frank Michael Holtham, Melissa Lynn Holtham and Jake Holtham, and his daughter Patricia Holtham Mottola and her children James Anthony Mottola and Taylor Catherine Mottola. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Hopper, his brother-in-law Robert J. Demarest and wife Alice Reiner Demarest, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service, Friday, 11:00 AM at St. John's Memorial Episcopal Church, 299 East Main Street, Ramsey, NJ. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Molly Foundation for Diabetes Research, P.O. Box 31, Allendale, NJ 07401, would be appreciated.
