Obituary of Robert Walter

WALTER, Robert, age 78, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Born in Paterson, he lived in Wyckoff for many years before moving to Mahwah in 1990. Bob was a self-employed heating contractor and a veteran of the United States Army. A kind, gentle and gracious man, his great sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Alberta, to whom he was married for 56 wonderful years, his two loving sons, Robert Joseph of Mountain Lakes and Bruce Michael and wife Michelle of Raleigh, NC, his three devoted granddaughters, Kathryn, Allison, and Natalie, and two adoring great-granddaughters, Mary Katherine and Grace Rose. He is also survived by a dear friend who became like a son, Victor Pacheco, and caring wife Priscilla, as well as his sisters and brothers, Helen Coman, Howard Walter, Joan Ferriola, Charles Walter and Evelyn Clayton. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Raymond Walter, and his sister Doris Beckmeyer. Cremation was private. To honor Bob's wishes, there will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life.
