Obituary of Michael Sharkey

SHARKEY, Michael David age 54 of Ridgewood, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Born in Jersey City, Michael lived in Ridgefield Park before moving to Ridgewood 17 years ago. Michael was a manager for Kings Supermarkets before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgewood. Surviving is his loving wife of 20 years, Kathleen R. Shouldis, his son Ryan Sharkey, his sister Cheryl Fayder and extended family. Michael was pre-deceased by his mother Barbara Sharkey in 1997. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 155 Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood. Interment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Monday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
