Obituary of Mariette Dyal

Mariette Dyal was born on September 30, 1934 to Ethnie and Adelbert Lavine in Rock Dundo, St. James, Barbados. She lived there until 1953 and then immigrated to Brooklyn, New York where she met and married Irvine McCormick Dyal. Mariette was a homemaker until her youngest child went to college and then she was a Special Education Aide and Administrator with New York City Board of Education. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who especially enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her family. Mariette was a parishioner of St. Stephen and St. Martin's Episcopal Church of Brooklyn. Mariette is survived by her beloved husband Irvine, her five children: Cherise Dyal Coleburn and her husband Norman of Franklin Lakes, Vinnie Dyal and wife Shelette of Temecula, CA, Hallam Dyal of Laurelton, NY, Raphael Lavine and wife Marcia of Temecula, CA and Anderson McKenzie of Westury, NY. She is also survived by her ten dear grandchildren: Randy, Jamal, Melinda, Chere, Hallam, Aishah, Christina, Cameron, Nicholas and Cayla, as well as her three great-grandchildren, her sister Beulah Lavine of Brooklyn, and her brothers: Hallam Lavine of Birmingham, England , Patrick Lavine of Barbados, West Indies and Darwin Edward of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
