Obituary of John Markham

Markham, John J. age 89 of Hawthorne, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Born in Englewood, he lived in Waldwick and Hemlock Farms, PA before moving to Hawthorne 7 years ago. John was a WW II army veteran. He was a Vice President of Sales for Meer Corporation of North Bergen, NJ, before his retirement in 1988. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne, NJ and a former parishioner of St. John Neumann R.C. Church, Lord's Valley, PA. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Ho-Ho-Kus, the VFW Post 4365, Palisades Park and the Hemlock Farms Community Association. Surviving are his children, John and his wife Deborah Markham of Nellysford, VA, Daniel and his wife Maria Markham of Lord's Valley, PA and Maureen and her husband Bill O'Connor of Midland Park. Also surviving are his 6 grandchildren, Jason & Brian Markham, Matthew and Taylor Markham and Meghan and Devin O'Connor, and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothea (nee Hintz) Markham in 2000. Visiting Sunday 2-4 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
