Obituary of Elizabeth Raud

RAUD, Elizabeth, age 98, died peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2009. She was a resident of Old Tappan for 47 years before moving to Allendale. Elizabeth was an avid gardener who loved being outside. Fiercely independent, she was a seamstress until retiring at age 80. One of her favorite pastimes was the visits from the Girl Scouts in Old Tappan. She is survived by her dear daughter Betty Stermensky of Waldwick, her three grandchildren: Lynn M. Murphy and husband Bill of Nashua, NH, Mary E. Aiosa and husband Mark of Waldwick and Scott S. Stermensky of Pompano Beach, FL. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Kelsey, Trevor, and Brett. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry in 1975 and her son-in-law Joseph J. Stermensky in 1989. Friends may visit the family on Friday, 11:00 -12:00 noon at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com) 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home. Interment, George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
