Obituary of Wilbur Miller

MILLER, Wilbur G."Whup", age 93, of North Haledon, died October 02, 2009 at the Holland Christian Home. Born in Midland Park, Whup lived in Wyckoff before moving to North Haledon in 2003. Whup was in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a Carpenter for Isaac Degenaars of Midland Park, and was very active with Habitat for Humanity. Whup was a member of Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church formerly Irving Park Christian Reformed Church where he was a member of the choir, and was also a member of the choir at the Holland Home. Whup is survived by his loving wife Nellie Miller, his son Stuart Miller of Lafayett, NJ, daughter-in-law Rosemarie Miller of Chalfont, PA, his 2 grandchildren: Julie M Gowan and her husband Scott, and Thomas J. Miller and his wife Taury, his 3 great grandchildren: Connor Jack and Mack William Gowan and Lukas Grant Miller. He is also survived by his sisters: Serena Osinga and Marjorie DeJong, both of North Haledon. Whup is predeceased by his sons Thomas and William. Visiting is Tuesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at the Holland Christian Home, 151 Graham Ave, North Haledon, 07508. A memorial service will be Wednesday, 11:00am at the Holland Christian Home. Memorial Contribution may be made to the Eastern Christian Childrens Retreat, 700 Mountain Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Arrangements by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff, www.vpfh.com.
