Obituary of William Hickey

Hickey, William F. age 87 of Ramsey died Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Born in Jersey City he lived in the Mahwah-Ramsey area for 17 years. William worked in Warehouse Maintenance for Sears of Maywood before his retirement. He was a WW II Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post 682, Ramsey, NJ. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Ramsey and a member of the Leisure Club of Ramsey. Surviving is his wife Gertrude A, (nee Scott) Hickey of Ramsey, his daughters, Linda Bakonyi of Montgomery, NY, Celeste and her husband Roy Schyling of Ramsey, NJ, Rita Galligan of Mahwah, NJ and Donna and her husband Peter Merritt of Florida, NY. Also was predeceased by his daughter, Ellen Campbell in 1999. surviving are 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He Visiting, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave.,Wyckoff. Funeral Mass Saturday 11 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church, 200 Wyckoff Ave. Ramsey, NJ.
