Obituary of John MacInnis

MacInnis, John A. "Jack", age 82, died Monday, July 20, 2009. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived there until graduating from the University of Missouri and eventually settling in Franklin Lakes 38 years ago. Jack was preceded in death in 2003 by the love of is life, his beloved wife of 32 years, Mary "Peggy" MacInnis. Jack was an engineer who worked for IBM, Howell Instruments and Tridon Sales Corp of Cresskill. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church of Wyckoff. Jack spent every summer at a family home on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia where he enjoyed the music and culture of his Scottish/Celtic heritage. Jack was a dedicated husband, uncle and friend. Jack is survived by two sisters, Jessie MacInnis of Brooklyn, NY and Jean McGolrick of McLean, VA; nine nieces and nephews: Darren MacInnis, Shawn MacInnis, Graham MacInnis, Bryn Briscuso, Jack MacInnis, Beth McGowen, Ellen Rowan, Eddie McGolrick, Billy McGolrick and 14 grand nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2pm -4pm and from 7pm -9pm on Thursday, July 23rd at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com) located at 257 Godwin Ave, Wycoff, N.J. Funeral Service, Friday, 9:15 AM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass to follow, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment, Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. All who knew and loved Jack are invited to attend.
