Obituary of Margareta Delaney

DELANEY, Margareta "Greta" T., age 90, of Allendale died on Friday, July 10, 2009 at her residence. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 19, at 2pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff with the Rev. James J. O'Connell, Jr. officiating. Greta was born May 10, 1919 in New York City. She was the daughter of the late Johann Philipp and Mary Ellen Davies and was widowed in 1978 by the death of her husband John Fredrick Delaney Jr. She was a grammar school teacher and retired from the Ramsey Public School system. Greta was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling regularly to England to visit friends and family where she recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Survivors include two nephews, Philipp Lewis Danbe and wife Petra of Lincoln Park, N.J. and Clifford Lance Danbe and wife Karen of San Jose, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WNET Channel 13, the public television station in New York City, 450 West 33rd St., New York, NY, 10001.
