Obituary of Alfred Neri

NERI, Alfred L. age 74 of Franklin Lakes, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Al was born in Greenwhich Village, NY on June 11, 1935. He lived in Greenwhich Village until moving to Franklin Lakes in 1967. Al owned and operated Cavalla, Inc; a cosmetic and pharmacutical manufacturing company in Hackensack, NJ for more than 50 years. He was innovative and influential in designing equipment for the industry. Al served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R. C. Church in Franklin Lakes since 1967. Surviving is his loving wife Jean (nee Coniglio) of 42 years, his devoted daughter Gina and her husband Rob Hayes of Franklin Lakes and his adoring grandchildren, Kyle, Nolen and Ava. Al also leaves his mother Helen (nee Biggi) of Wyckoff and his brother-in-law Andrew Coniglio of Harriman, NY. Al was pre-deceased by his father Umberto Neri. A funeral mass will be held Saturday 12:30 pm at the Most Blessed Sacrament R. C. Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes. Entombment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse International, the Sol and Lillian Goldman Building, 111 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022-1202.
