Obituary of Steven Mazar

MAZAR, Steven John age 62 died peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital. Born in Passaic; Steven lived most of his life in Garfield before moving to Wanaque two years ago. He was a shipping clerk for Sears Holding for more than 40 years in both Maywood and Wharton. Steve was a charter member of the Men's Club of the Boys and Girls Club in Garfield. He also served on the Board of Education for the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran School in Garfield. Steve was the highlight of his grandchildren's fan club, he enjoyed all of their sporting and social events. Photography was his passion along with traveling the world around. Surviving is his loving wife of 43 years, Maryann (nee Chida), his devoted sons, Steven Joseph and his wife Susan of Wanaque and Michael Thomas and his wife Tracy of Golden, CO. Steve also leaves his adoring grandchildren Sarah, Zachary and Joshua and his sister Barbara DeMuro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue Wyckoff. Friends may visit with the Mazar family on Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
