Obituary of Rose Gioia

GIOIA, Rose J. (nee Lampone) age 75 of Wayne died suddenly on Monday, June 15, 2009. Rose was born and raised in Paterson and lived most of her life in Wayne. She was a Real Estate Broker for Weichert Realtors in Wyckoff for the past 20 years. Rose was active in the Wayne Elks where she served as their Chaplin and also organized charity events for the Army of Hope to support the troops in Iraq. Always outgoing, Rose loved life, her family and friends and was loved by all. Surviving are her devoted daughters Valerie and her husband Frank Barber of Ringwood and Lorraine and her husband Anthony Portelli of Warwick, NY. Rose also leaves her adoring grandchildren Jennifer, Jason and Nicholas and her sister Mary Longo. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 am from the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral mass will follow 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth's R. C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Entombment will be in the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting is Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
