Obituary of Joseph Kostialik

KOSTIALIK, Joseph J. "Jay Kay", owner and proprietor of Jay Kay Seamless Gutter Supply, died peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Born in Bratislava Czechoslovakia, he grew up on Monroe St. in Passaic, raised his family in Elmwood Park before moving to Wyckoff over twenty years ago. Joe began his career over fifty years ago in the roofing business with his brother Fred. He successfully grew Jay Kay Seamless Gutter Supply of Wanaque, into a major manufacturer and supplier of aluminum building products in the tri-state area. He became fondly known to all as Jay Kay. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, Wyckoff. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Rosalie, to whom he was married for 51 wonderful years, in 2005. Joe is survived by his three dear children: Joseph A. and wife Tracy of Bentonville, VA, Kathe Crawford of Towaco, and Kristine Ziser and husband David of Pompton Plains, his six precious grandchildren: Lawrence and Brian Crawford, Jamie and Jennifer Kostialik and Abby and Emma Ziser, and his cherished great grandson Julian Crawford. Also survived by his brother Fred and wife Linda of Rockaway. Also predeceased by his sister Mary Saja. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral Service, Wednesday, 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass, 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Cremation will be private. Memorial contributions to Valley Hospice, c/o Valley Hospital Foundation, 223 North Van Dien Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450, would be appreciated.
