Lillian Lynk

Obituary of Lillian H Lynk

Lillian H.  Lynk, (nee Wescott) age 92 of Hawthorne went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2018.  Born in Hillsdale, NJ she lived in Rochelle Park before moving to Hawthorne in 1998. Lillian, with her husband William were the Owner and Operator of Teacher’s Pub, Stony Point, NY for many years.  She was a member of Bethany Church, Wyckoff.

Lillian deeply loved her five brothers, four children and the many people who came and were born into her family, but her closest relationship was with Jesus. His love shined in her and she was truly a reflection of Jesus’ love — to everyone.

God gave her a servant’s heart that grew as she grew in Him. Lillian cared tenderly for her ill husband for more than 20 years. All who knew her, and some who didn’t, were blessed by her gift of hospitality. She collected friends wherever she went. Many people told her that she was the best friend they ever had. She was definitely the best, most loving mom and grandmother. Her children’s spouses all referred to her as their Mother-In-LOVE (MIL).

Lillian was fun. The epitome of beautiful.  She could play a game of cards with the best of them, and dance to the tunes of the day — and she looked fantastic doing it, always fashionable with freshly styled hair and nails.

In addition to being around people and sharing the Good News about Christ, she enjoyed traveling with family and her Bethany church group. She visited Hawaii, Branson, MO., Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Arizona, California, Dominican Republic and took several cruises, including one to Alaska. Her favorite vacation though was her voyage to Israel, where she walked many of the same paths as her lord and savior.

Surviving are her children, Frank “Ted” Ziffer and his wife Sandra of Moncks Corner, SC, Thomas Ziffer and his wife Betty of Prescott Valley, AZ, Debbie Tokarski and her husband Howard of Hawthorne, NJ, and Catherine Holland and her husband Adam of Houston, TX. Also surviving are her 17 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren and her brother, Richard Wescott of Parrish, FL.

She was predeceased by her husband William J. Lynk in 1997 and her four brothers, Raymond, Charles, Robert and James.
