Obituary of Elsa Bender

Elsa Bender, 78, of Franklin Lakes, NJ formerly of Mahwah, NJ and Park Ridge, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 surrounded by her family. Elsa was born in Havana, Cuba and was the youngest of four children to Anselmo and Emelina Paula. She married the love of her life, Jacob, in 1957 and they immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1961.

 

Elsa was a data processing supervisor at Flexi-Van Corporation, Secaucus, NJ from 1970 through 1976. In 1978 she cofounded her own data processing business, EBER Key Punch Service, in Park Ridge, NJ.  She was the former president of the Ramapo Ridge Recreation Association where she scheduled, planned and oversaw all events.

 

Elsa and her husband, Jacob, were soul mates. They celebrated every minute of their 61 years of marriage together. She was a world traveler, loved the ocean, music, dancing, fashion, scrabble and spending time with her family.

 

Elsa is survived by her husband, Jacob, her sons Jacob and Jeffrey and their wives Cheryl and Carolyn, along with her grandchildren Jason, Nicole, Zachary and Zoe. She is also survived by her siblings Enrique Paula and Gladys Sliker. She was predeceased by her sister, Mirtha Guerra.
