Obituary of Ann Dunn

Ann Dunn (nee Reilly), 85, of Allendale died Saturday, December 2, 2017.  Born in New York City, she grew up in Washington Heights, then lived in New Milford before moving to Allendale in 1995. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, and talented artist.

While living in New Milford, she was an active member of Ascension Church and remained active even upon moving to Allendale.  In Allendale, Ann found her second home at the Church of the Guardian Angel. She actively participated in the Counter Ministry, the 9am’ers, sewed bibs for the Baptism Ministry, and was a participant in numerous other activities. She also enjoyed a very active social life with her many dear friends. As an artist, she enjoyed drawing, painting watercolor landscapes, and creating jewelry.

Surviving are her three children, Patricia Albanese and her husband Thomas of Ramsey, NJ; Edward T. Dunn and his wife Lisa of Saddle River, NJ; and Carolyn Dunn and her husband Jon Lennon of Naperville, IL.  Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Brianna Dunn, Maggie Albanese, Alex Albanese, David Lennon, and Marielle Lennon. She is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Bridget Reilly, husband Edward Dunn in 2013, her sisters Margie Murphy and Kathleen Carty, and her brothers James O’Reilly and John Reilly.

In lieu of flowers, she would be honored to have any donations made to Church of the Guardian Angel or St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 9:30am at Church of the Guardian Angel,  320 Franklin Turnpike,  Allendale, NJ 07401.   Private cremation was held.  Arrangements by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
