Obituary of Charlotte Mary Riffel

Riffel, Charlotte Mary (nee Daut) age 85 of Wyckoff, formerly of Hawthorne, died peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017.  Born and raised in Paterson, Charlotte lived most of her life in Hawthorne before moving to Wyckoff 5 years ago.  She worked for many years as a waitress for the Market Basket in Franklin Lakes and was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Hawthorne.  Surviving are her children, Daniel and his wife Nancy, Doreen King and Albert Riffel, Jr.  Charlotte also leaves her 6 adoring grandchildren, Kristen Reidy, Kylah King, Sharyn Riffel, Jasalyn DeRyke, Sean Riffel and Deanna Riffel, her 7 great grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Joseph, Brendan, Thomas, Charlotte and Abigail and her sister Mary Sitek.  Charlotte was predeceased by her husband Albert Riffel and her siblings Geroge Daut, Elizabeth Lyttle, and Frances Crozier.  The Riffel family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, November 30, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, 276 Diamond Bridge Avenue, Hawthorne.  Entombment will be in the Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum in Totowa.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Charlotte’s name may be made to, Alzheimer’s of New Jersey, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
