Obituary of Edith Fylstra

Fylstra, Edith (nee Okma) “Edye” age 96 of North Haledon died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 15, 2017.  Born and raised in Prospect Park, Edith was a longtime resident of Wyckoff where she and her late husband Ed raised their children. Edith has been a resident of North Haledon since 1996.  She was a member of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church and the High Mountain Golf Club.  Surviving are her devoted sons, Edward, Ralph and his wife Beth and Bob and his wife Lori.  Edye also leaves 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  The Fylstra family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, 2017, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Chapel of the Holland Christian Home, 151 Graham Avenue, North Haledon.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:30 AM also at the Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Edye’s name may be made to St Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis,TN 38148-0142.  Arrangements by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff (www.vpfh.com).
