Obituary of Eleanor Kruithof

Eleanor “Ellie” Kruithof passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the age of 95. Born in Midland Park, NJ she remained a longtime resident before moving to Wyckoff, NJ 1 ½ years ago. Ellie was an avid gardener, a member of the Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park, NJ where she was active in the Senior Crusaders. Along with being a homemaker, Ellie was a secretary at her husband Arthur’s business, Art Kruithof Sand and Gravel in Midland Park, NJ. Ellie is predeceased by her husband Arthur H. (Bud) Kruithof who passed away in 2011 and she is also predeceased by her daughter Shirley Ann Kruithof. Survivors include her four children:  Elaine C. Braunius, her husband Roy; Arthur H. Kruithof, his wife Sue; Kenneth W. Kruithof, his wife Caroline; Donna K. Hagedorn; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a sister Catherine “Kay” Sweetman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Ellie’s funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the interment following in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
