Obituary of Walter Bischof

Walter Bischof of Waldwick passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the age of 94.

Walter previously lived in Elmont, NY, Union City, NJ, and North Bergen, NJ, before settling in Waldwick for the last 52 years. Before retiring in 1992 from Allied Signal Aerospace in Teterboro, NJ, Walter was an electronic technician in the defense industry for many years.

Walter was born and raised in Sigmaringen, Germany. He served in the Navy during WW II. In 1951, he immigrated to the US and was joined by wife Edith in 1954.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edith, his sons, Ralph and his wife Alycia, and Eric and his wife Stephanie, and five grandchildren, Holly, Gina, Thomas, Alexander, and Charlotte. He was predeceased by his parents Albin and Helene Bischof and brothers Siegfried and Hermann.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21st from 2-4 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ, with a Memorial Service starting at 4 pm.
