Obituary of Joseph J. Cobuzio

Cobuzio, Joseph J., age 80, of Franklin Lakes, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 12th, 2017.  Joseph was born in Paterson and lived in Ringwood before moving to Franklin Lakes over 30 years ago.  Joseph graduated from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Paterson.  After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the destroyer U.S.S. Zellars-777.  Thereafter, Joseph started his own construction company, Joseph J. Cobuzio Inc. and Sons, which continues today under his son, John.  He enjoyed listening to his radio, wood working and his family heritage.  He is survived by his two sons; Joseph, and his wife, Ronna, John, and his wife, Claudia, and four grandchildren; Nicole and her husband, Brian, Danielle, Alyssa and Joey.  He was predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Rose Cobuzio (nee Spagnola), his wife, Eleanor, in 2008, and his daughter-in-law, Ellen, in 2009, The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16th at 10am at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ.  Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery, 980 Huron Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory can be made to the St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN  38148-0142.
