Obituary of Ellen Terpstra

Ellen Terpstra,  age 90, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Ellen was born in Midland Park and was a lifelong resident.  She was a member of Living Word Reformed Church, North Haledon, NJ, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and served on the Vacation Bible School Board.  Ellen was also an active member of the Women’s Guild of Sixth Reformed Church and the Passaic Classical Union Board.  Ellen was predeceased by her loving husband, Theodore G. Terpstra on December 22, 1993.  She is survived by her daughter, Nancy DelMoro and her husband, Gary of Cresskill, NJ and her two sons: Ted Terpstra and his wife, Maureen of Fair Lawn, NJ and David Terpstra and his wife, Christine of Midland Park, NJ.  Ellen is also survived by her nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, 2017, 10:00 am at Vander Plaat Funeral Home. The burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen’s memory may be made to Living Word Reformed Church, 21 Pleasant View Drive, North Haledon, NJ 07508.
