Obituary of Frank V. Capasso

Frank V. Capasso, 86, of Ridgewood, died peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on Friday, April 21, 2017. Born in Summit, he lived in Ridgewood for over 55 years. Frank served in the US Airforce during the Korean War. Frank was the owner/operator of Frank V. Capasso Refuse Company of Teaneck. He attended Hawthorne Gospel Church, was a member and former president of the Rotary International, Teaneck Chapter, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Teaneck.

 

He is survived by his children: John and his wife Tami Capasso of Medford, NJ and Patty and her husband Dave Abma of Mahwah, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Krystine, David, John, Kara, and Lisa. He is survived by his brother, Nicholas Capasso; his sisters, Angie and her husband Ernie D'Elia; Carmella Capasso Coll and many nieces and nephews. Frank is predeceased by his wife Linda, his mother Filomena, his father John and brother, Anthony.

 

The family will gather to receive friends on Thursday, 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Funeral service is Friday, 10:30am at the Hawthorne Gospel Church, 2000 State Highway 208, Hawthorne, NJ 07506. Burial will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
