Obituary of Claire Kretschmer

Claire Kretschmer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Jupiter, Florida. Born in Ohio she was a resident of Woodcliff Lake, NJ and Jupiter, FL. In 1952, Claire graduated from Simmons College and married Raymond Kretschmer, a marriage that lasted 63 glorious years. Claire was a homemaker and a long time parishioner at the Community Church in Harrington Park, NJ where she sang in their choir. When in Florida she attended the First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta. She was a member of the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ and Jonathan's Landing in Jupiter, Florida. Claire is survived by her three children and their spouses: Raymond Kretschmer (Joann), Barbara Ball (Maynard) and David Kretschmer (Therese) and nine adoring grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Claire’s funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church, 1 Spring St., Harrington Park, NJ 07640. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Contributions in Claire’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta, 482 Tequesta Dr, Tequesta, FL 33469.
