Obituary of Gustav Schloesser

Gustav Schloesser, 89, of Franklin Lakes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21st. Gus was born in Lithuania and came to the United States in 1951. He spent more than 50 years at his home in Franklin Lakes with his wife, Eleanor. Gus was a man of many talents, but worked primarily in the carpentry industry with Vandenberg Construction and Braen Stone Industries, Inc. Gus truly lived life to fullest through simple pleasures: maintaining a beautiful vegetable garden and orchard, working with horses, making apple cakes, and spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by parents, Heinrich and Auguste Schloesser and his siblings, Ida, Helmut, and Ewald Schloesser and survived by sister, Erna Frank. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Eleanor Schloesser. Devoted father to Paul Schloesser and wife, Jeanne and Donna Mansmann and husband, John. Cherished Opa to three granddaughters, Lynnae, Kristen, and Jessica Peterson.
