Obituary of Elizabeth McCombs

McCombs, Elizabeth “Betty”, age 89, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Port Jervis, NY and had been a long time resident of Midland Park. Betty was a member of Church of the Nativity, Midland Park. Prior to her retirement, Betty was a waitress at Friendly’s Restaurant, Midland Park. She was a former Girl Scout leader in Port Jervis, NY and Midland Park, NJ, a member of the American Legion Post #130, Midland Park, NJ and the Midland Park Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray in 1995. She is survived by her three children: Jim McCombs and his wife, Chris of Manahawkin, NJ, Barbara Schust and her husband, George of Chester, NY and Diane Pattman and her husband, Jack of Midland Park, NJ. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren: Amy (Jim) Fells, Mark (Megan)McCombs, Kevin (Corinne) McCombs, Nick (Lindsey) Schust, Greg (Ashley) Pattman, Kyle (Livia) Pattman, Tim (Kendra) Schust, Ryan and Beth and her seven great-grandchildren: Daniel, Sean, Hudson, Henry, Harlee, Parker and Landon and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, 11:00 am at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Avenue, Midland Park, NJ 07432. The interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to Church of the Nativity.
