Obituary of Salvatore Palmieri

Salvatore Palmieri passed away peacefully on Saturday, April, 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was 80. Born in Bloomfield, he was a resident of Ringwood for many years before moving to Wanaque. Sal was a plant manager at Coats & Clark, Inc., in Fair Lawn before retiring. While residing in Ringwood, he was very active in the little league where he was coach and the program manager. Sal was also employed at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff and at Seiko Watch Company in Mt. Olive. Sal will be missed dearly by his wife of 53 years, Carol and their five children: Salvatore Palmieri, his wife Tina, Dena Ratz, her husband Steven, Danny Palmieri, his wife Leni, Greg Palmieri and Ali, Robyn Tilton, her husband Jim and 12 grandchildren: Jimmy, Sal, Geanna, Shayne, Daniela, Kelsea, Hunter, Taylor, Dylan, Justin, Austin and Cecelia. Sal is predeceased by his brother Angelo Palmieri. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4 – 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
