Obituary of Joanne Calendrillo

Joanne “JoJo” Calendrillo (nee O'Neill),67, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2016, after a courageous 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She grew up in Hackensack, and was a long time resident of Fair Lawn, before moving to Pompton Lakes. JoJo was a former flight attendant with American Airlines, and before her retirement was employed by Dynamic Title Agency, Glen Rock, as the Office Manager. JoJo was a reality TV show enthusiast, an avid sports fan, and loved watching and rooting for the N.Y. Rangers, Giants, and Yankees. Many crazy, happy times were spent with family and friends at her shore home in Diamond Beach, NJ. JoJo was a kind, generous, loving, selfless person who would sacrifice her own happiness for the happiness of others. Her motto was, "Always do the right thing." She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 45 1/2 years, Paul (Chubby), her two sons: Darren, his wife Krista, Marcus, his wife Jennifer, and the "loves of her life” her grandchildren: Carlo Paul and Avery Grace. JoJo is also survived by her brother Daniel O’Neill, his companion Judie Filyaw, a sister Mamie Gallegos, her husband Walter, and many nieces and nephews who all loved JoJo dearly. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Patrick O’Neill, and his wife Nancy O'Neill, and her beloved dog Chelsea. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. JoJo’s funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
